Whale Wars: The Helicopter
Apart from the radar, the helicopter is the eyes and ears of Sea Sheperd. The helicopter can travel ahead to scout for the Japanese as well as report back about ice patterns and weather conditions.

Scientific ResearchWhale Wars (01:25)
The Japanese write "Scientific Research" on their ships to underline that they're operating under an international law that allows them to kill up to a certain amount of whales every year for sceintific research. -
Prop FoulerWhale Wars (01:01)
A prop fouler is designed to wrap around the propeller of a ship and shut it down. If Sea Shepherd can foul the prop of a whaling ship, the ship goes home. -
Butyric Acid (Stink Bombs)Whale Wars (01:06)
The Sea Sheperd's weapon of choice is butyric acid. Bottled and thrown onto the decks of whaling ships, it spoils any whale meat it comes in contact with, and makes it almost impossible to work on the deck. -
Outboard BoatsWhale Wars (01:06)
The Steve Irwin isn't fast enough to catch whaling ships on its own, so it relies on the outboard "fast" boats to get close. A team of four will ride up to a whaling vessel and throw butyric acid and even try to foul a prop of the biggest ships.
