Tyson and His Pigeons Mike Tyson began his love affair with pigeons around the age of 7 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. A local pigeon flyer asked the young Tyson to help clean his coop. Pigeons were an important part of life in Brownsville in the 1970s, and Tyson looked up to the top pigeon flyers in his neighborhood.
