SEASON 2

  Episode 1: CHEATING EXTINCTION
Narrated by Oscar-nominated actress, Virginia Madsen, this one hour special follows Lone Droscher-Nielsen as she and her team race against time to save and protect the orangutans. Lone is the project pioneer and founder of Nyaru Menteng Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Borneo, which is home to nearly 700 orphaned orangutans and is the largest primate rescue project in the world. As the classmates of Forest School 103, Cha Cha, Chen Chen, Saturnus and the others continue to thrive on ORANGUTAN ISLAND, and the heroic rescues of other orphaned orangutans continue around the clock. We will follow Lone as she and her team fight to bring these orphans back to the center to rehabilitate them and teach them survival skills, with the hope that one day they too can return to their natural habitat. In this special, viewers also will learn about the other island sanctuaries that Lone has created, meet some older orangutans that are rehabilitated and ready to be reintroduced to the wild and find out how the orangutans on ORANGUTAN ISLAND have been doing including Donald and Bonita, since we last saw them.

SEASON 2

  Episode 2: AN ANIMAL IN PARADISE
It's been 18 months since Forest School class 103 arrived on the island, and 32 of the original 35 orangutans remain, life on the island is still unpredictable. In this episode, two travelers must put their lives at risk to help the orangs, revealing the greatest surprise yet on Orangutan Island.

SEASON 2

  Episode 3: NO BORDERS
There are new arrivals on the island--mother Kiki and her nine-month-old son, Hardi, who came from bordering Palas Island.  Although there is an electric fence dividing the two islands, Project Manager Lone Droscher-Nielson quickly realizes that it doesn’t work when Kiki and her son arrive unscathed. Facing a tough decision about border control, Lone decides to open the borders and allow free access between the islands. She hopes that the youngsters on Orangutan Island will learn from the elders on Palas Island--but there is always the threat of aggression from the elders. Will the new arrivals contribute to the orphans evolving society or sabotage their future?
