bigfoot   BIGFOOT
Bigfoot — also known as the Sasquatch — earned its name from the gigantic footprints it is said to leave behind. Thousands of sightings of this large, hairy, apelike humanoid creature have been reported in forested areas in many parts of North America, with most occurring in the wilderness areas of Northern California as well as other parts of the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

genoskwa   GENOSKWA
Iroquois lore speaks of the Genoskwa, a stone giant with rock-hard skin that preyed on Native American villages. Although the Genoskwa is said to have a very different temperament than its Sasquatch cousin, the two have remarkably similar physical characteristics. Witnesses describe the animal as 7- to 8 feet tall with an apelike face. Unlike the Sasquatch, it is said to have red eyes and a gray, stone-like appearance. It's also said to emit a noxious stench that smells like a mixture of skunk and rotting flesh. Genoskwa are thought to kill their prey by twisting their head to the point of decapitation.

honey island swamp monster   HONEY ISLAND SWAMP MONSTER
According to legend, a terrifying monster lurks deep in the untamed wilds of Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, less than an hour from New Orleans. Standing over 7 feet tall and weighing between 400 and 500 pounds, the Honey Island Swamp Monster — also known as the Louisiana Wookie — is said to be covered in a thick coat of matted gray or brown hair. Its yellow eyes are seemingly reptilian, and the smell it emits has been called the stench of death.

southern sasquatch   SOUTHERN SASQUATCH
The Southern Sasquatch is best known as the Fouke Monster. The creature's most famous sightings are from the town of Fouke in Miller County, Arkansas. Local legends of an apelike creature date back to 1946, when it was called the "Jonesville Monster" (based on the town where it was initially sighted). Sighted again in the mid-1960's, the creature didn't make local headlines until 1971 when it was said to have attacked the home of Bobby and Elizabeth Ford. The incident inspired a 1973 film called The Legend of Boggy Creek, which in turn inspired additional sightings up through the late 1990's.

yeti   YETI
The Yeti, also known as the "Abominable Snowman," hails from the cold climate of the Himalayan Mountains. Its name loosely translates to "metoh-kangmi," which means "man-bear snowman." However, this elusive creature doesn't look like a snowman at all. Covered in brown fur, the Yeti reportedly resembles a human-gorilla hybrid or possibly even a bear, and it stands more than 11 feet (3.3 meters) tall. With a menacing howl and eyes that glow, this beast reportedly protects the mountains from evil-doers.
