ANIMAL PLANET'S ROAR SWEEPSTAKES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below are answers to frequently asked questions about Animal Planet's "Reach Out. Act. Respond" ("ROAR") Sweepstakes. We suggest you print this page for future reference.

When is the sweepstakes?

Animal Planet's ROAR Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on October 19, 2006 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on April 1, 2007.

Who can enter?

Any legal U.S. resident who is 18 or older at the time of entry and has Internet access as of October 18, 2006 may enter.

How do I enter?

Visit http://animal.discovery.com/sweepstakes/roar/2006/ and access the online entry form. Complete and submit the entry form so that it is received by the Sponsor's server by 11:59 PM ET on April 1, 2007.

How often can I enter?

You may enter the sweepstakes once a day.

What are the prizes?

One Grand Prize will be awarded, a trip for the winner and one guest to travel to and participate in a one or two week Earthwatch Expedition. The prize consists of round trip coach air travel for two people to the site of the expedition; the expedition contribution, which includes expenses limited to the one to two week period you are in the field, including food, accommodation, on-site travel, medical and evacuation insurance; and all of the various costs of field research (field permits, equipment, etc.). Earthwatch reserves the right of final approval of all participants and the expedition selection. The total retail value of the Grand Prize may not exceed $10,000 (limited to a maximum of $5,000 per person).

One First Prize will be awarded, a one-week Emergency Vets internship for one person. The prize includes round trip coach air travel to the eVets location, accommodations for 7 days/6 nights, ground transportation and meals. The prize is valued at approximately $3,000.

Each winner will be requested to keep an e-diary documenting his/her experience in text and digital photos and to grant Sponsor the results and proceeds of the e-diary.

When and how will the winners be selected?

The winners will be chosen in a random drawing to be held on or about April 3, 2007.

How will I know if I've won?

The winners will be contacted by mail after the random drawing. If you'd like to know who won, just mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by April 30, 2007 to: Animal Planet's ROAR Sweepstakes Winners, PMI Station, PO Box 750, Southbury, CT 06488-0750.

What are my chances of winning?

Your chances of winning are based on the number of people who enter.

By entering the sweepstakes will I automatically win something?

No, when you enter, you are entering for a chance to win a prize.

I have a friend who wants to enter. Can he or she still participate even though the sweepstakes has already started?

Yes! If your friend is eligible, he/she may enter once a day at http://animal.discovery.com/sweepstakes/roar/2006/ through April 1, 2007.

How many people can enter the sweepstakes?

The sweepstakes has an ongoing registration so it is difficult to say, but there is no maximum number.

Why is the sweepstakes available only to U.S. residents?

Different rules and regulations associated with games of chance in other countries make it difficult to administer sweepstakes and games outside the United States.

What should I do if I can't reach the sweepstakes web pages when I try to visit?

Come back and try again another time! Many Internet sites experience "traffic jams" from time to time. Refreshing the page may help. However, if you have problems connecting to all web sites, contact your system administrator; you may have a problem at your end.

I'm having trouble entering the sweepstakes. My computer seems to be too slow or times out repeatedly. What should I do?

From time to time, the Internet experiences heavy periods of traffic. The slowdown in the registration process is often caused by a large number of consumers trying to register for the sweepstakes at the same time. If you are experiencing "time-outs" while trying to register, we suggest that you wait a few minutes or try again at a later time.

I'm a Macintosh user. Will I have trouble entering the sweepstakes?

No, the sweepstakes is equally accessible through Macs and PCs.

Where can I send feedback about the sweepstakes?

You can send general feedback and suggestions to online_sweepstakes@discovery.com.

What if I have read all of the FAQs and I'm still having a problem entering?

If you are still encountering difficulties entering, you can send an e-mail to online_sweepstakes@discovery.com to inform us of your questions. Please make sure you include a detailed description of your situation, your full name and the type of browser you use. We will make every effort to get to the bottom of any technical questions that may arise.

Please see Official Sweepstakes Rules for more details, legal disclosures and entry requirements.
