Animal Planet has been able to help its partners make the world a better place for animals through its $25,000 R.O.A.R. grants. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Animal Planet products go to organizations taking the lead in being a voice for animals. See all the ways these funds have helped partners make an impact.

    Earthwatch
    Earthwatch Institute Raises Awareness for Endangered Animals and Preserve Biodiversity
    In a global campaign to promote the importance of biodiversity and the role it plays in sustaining life on earth, Earthwatch installed about 20 volunteers in over a dozen countries to focus on endangered species research projects and understanding biodiversity. One fellowship was awarded to Krista Freeman, a California middle school teacher, who joined scientists in Costa Rica to better understand the role of conservation in sustainable coffee production.
     
    Ecozone
    EcoZone Inspired by Jeff Corwin
    EcoZone used its Animal Planet R.O.A.R grant to build the "Migration and Global Bio-Diversity Exhibit" at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Massachusetts. Inspired by Jeff Corwin, the EcoZone features local animals and habitats with the goal of education visitors about nature in their own backyards.
     
    Jane Goodall
    Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Youth Campaign
    With help from R.O.A.R, the Roots & Shoots Global Youth Campaign launched a fundraising initiative to help raise money to support the Jane Goodall Institute's work with chimpanzees in Tanzania. The campaign also focused on encouraging young people focus on endangered species and biodiversity locally.
     
    Adopt-a-Wildlife-Acre Program
    National Wildlife Federation's Adopt-a-Wildlife-Acre Program
    The National Wildlife Federation was able to secure over 6,700 acres of grazing land for bison and bighorn sheep in Yellowstone National Park thanks to Animal Planet's $25,000 grant.
     
    Petfinder.com Foundation's Animal Lifeline Shelter Roadtrip
    Animal Planet and Petfinder.com helped fund a student volunteer trip to West Virginia to to provide shelter repair, training, and transport of approximately 35 adoptable dogs. See their photos.
     
    Koala
    Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors
    Animal Planet matched Wildlife Warrior donations up to $25,000 to support programs at the Australia Zoo and the Zoo's Wildlife Hospital. Funds helped in the rehabilitation of an orphaned koala joey named Travis McCoy that was hit by a car.
     
    Villalobos Rescue Center
    R.O.A.R funds helped build 20 houses, kennels and dog runs for hundreds of pit bulls at the largest pit bull rescue center in the U.S. and home of the Animal Planet show, Pit Bulls and Parolees. Also, Animal Planet donated $50,000 to Villalobos in its first-ever " You Watch. We Give." campaign with the help of viewers tuning in to a special episode on Nov. 27.
