 The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is the nation's largest animal protection organization, and a powerful mainstream voice for animals—all animals. The HSUS confronts cruelty on many fronts, from the scourge of animal fighting to assaults against marine mammals and other wildlife and their habitats. The society works to protect animals from becoming victims of disaster, and provides rescue and relief if they do fall victim. The HSUS provides free wellness and spay/neuter services to native nations through its Rural Area Veterinary Services. It has active programs to protect wildlife, animals in research, horses, farm animals, and companion animals. In addition to addressing issues of cruelty and abuse, the HSUS also celebrates animals and our relationships with them.
