Scientific name: Brachydanio rerio
The Zebra Danio, reaching 1.5 inches when fully grown, is a schooling species that swims rapidly about the tank. This small fish is hardy and peaceful but may disturb quiet species with its lively activity. A water temperature in the range of 68º to 78º Fahrenheit, a pH of 6.5 to 8.0, and water that is soft to moderately hard are acceptable. This fish takes all flake and freeze-dried foods.
The Zebra Danio originates from India. With its bright blue bands separated by flashy strips of gold or silver and its almost constant activity, it will enhance any community tank.
