Empty Nets in the Mediterranean
Fishermen prepare their nets in southern Italy. Along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, fishermen have lured giant tuna into vast chambers of intricate netting for thousands of years. In recent years, these nets have been increasingly empty as industrial-scale fishing practices have ravaged tuna stocks in the Mediterranean.
