An Uncertain Future
This baby Malaysian orangutan faces a grim future as deforestation and palm oil plantations continue to drive its species closer to the verge of extinction. The Malaysian government recently announced plans to increase palm oil production by 25 percent over the next five years, a development which could wipe out Malaysian orangutans completely.
