UNESCO Honors Jane Goodall
UNESCO Director-General Koichiro Matsuura, left, presents primatologist Jane Goodall with the organization's 60th Anniversary Medal for her dedication to preserving Africa's apes. The ceremony was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. Goodall, "was one of the first people to sound the alarm regarding the serious danger facing the great apes, that provide us with a direct link to humanity's past," said Matsuura.
