Petfinder.com is the largest database of homeless pets on the Web, with hundreds of thousands of adoptable pets listed on the site by more than 10,000 animal welfare organizations. The Petfinder.com Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to assisting these organizations by providing relief in times of stress or disaster and assisting shelters with fundraising.
We are proud that our help is direct and local. Our programs aim to help make the lives of homeless pets more bearable and increase their chances of finding new homes. You can't adopt them all, but you can make a difference.
The Foundation's Sponsor-a-Pet program lets visitors to Petfinder.com help homeless pets they cannot adopt, but who have touched their hearts. Donations are passed along to the organizations housing the pets. For people who have more time than money, the Petfinder.com volunteer database is a way to help local animal adoption organizations, which are often understaffed and underfunded. Volunteers can help with fostering, cleaning, pet socializing or other tasks.
