The Rainford's Butterflyfish, also known as the Rainfordi Butterflyfish, is yellow with two broad gray-blue stripes with yellow-orange margins on the body. The gray-blue stripes have small spots on them. There is also a dark streak on the tail.
The Rainford's Butterflyfish requires a 70 gallon or larger aquarium that contains peaceful tank mates to smooth its transition to aquarium life.
The Rainford's Butterflyfish survives by eating corals in the wild and has a difficult time adjusting to a new diet. It might be willing to try a coral skeleton coated with mashed meats. Because of its very selective diet, it should be kept by only the most experienced aquarists.
Like other butterflyfish, they are generally compatible with: Dwarf Angelfish, Large Angelfish, Anglers & Frogfish, Anthias, Basslets, Batfish, Blennies, Boxfish, Cardinalfish, Clownfish, Filefish, Goatfish, Gobies, Grunts & Sweetlips, Hawkfish, Hogfish, Parrotfish, Pseudochromis and Puffers.
