Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse
Veterinary & Aquatic Services Department, Drs. Foster & Smith, Inc.

The Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse is also known as the Striped Lubbock's Wrasse. The male has a bright yellow and red body with blue, brown, and white ornamentation. The females generally do not have quite as bold markings as the males. When courting, the male will display an increased color intensity.

A 30 gallon or larger aquarium, either fish-only or reef, with a shaded area is recommended. A single male can be kept with a group of females that are introduced prior to or at the same time as the male.

The diet of the Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse should include a variety of feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine meats.

Like other wrasse, they are generally compatible with: Large Angelfish, Boxfish, Damselfish and Tangs & Surgeons.
