The Crowned Pearlyscale Butterflyfish, also known as the Yellowtail Butterflyfish, Philippine Chevron, or Pearlscale Butterflyfish, is white with black margins on its body scales. This gives a criss-cross pattern and pearly sheen. Most of its posterior is orange and it has a silver-edged black stripe through the eyes.
It may reside in a 50 gallon or larger aquarium provided that it is well-maintained and relatively peaceful. It may be kept with other Pearlyscales if they are introduced to the tank at the same time.
The diet of the Crowned Pearlyscale Butterflyfish should include various meaty preparations.
Like other butterflyfish, they are generally compatible with: Dwarf Angelfish, Large Angelfish, Anglers & Frogfish, Anthias, Basslets, Batfish, Blennies, Boxfish, Cardinalfish, Clownfish, Filefish, Goatfish, Gobies, Grunts & Sweetlips, Hawkfish, Hogfish, Parrotfish, Pseudochromis and Puffers.
