The Blood Red Hawkfish, also known as the Banded Hawkfish or Redbar Hawkfish, has a bright red body with bluish-white freckles on the face and light vertical stripes along the body.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium is acceptable. It is a hardy fish and any tank mates should be larger than itself and at least semi-aggressive. It will eat small fish and crustaceans.
The Blood Red Hawkfish diet should include a variety of marine meats, frozen preparations, and live feeder shrimp.
Like other hawkfish, they are generally compatible with: Dwarf Angelfish, Large Angelfish, Anthias, Basslets, Batfish, Blennies, Boxfish, Butterflyfish, Cardinalfish, Clownfish, Damselfish, Filefish, Goatfish, Gobies, Hawkfish, Hogfish, Parrotfish, Pseudochromis, Puffers, Squirrelfish and Tangs & Surgeons.
