BROAD-NOSED GENTLE LEMUR, aka GREATER BAMBOO LEMUR (Hapalemur simus)

Description: The broad-nosed gentle lemur is the largest of the bamboo lemurs. Like all lemurs, the broad-nosed gentle lemur has huge eyes and a hairy, doglike snout. Their hands and feet are adapted for leaping from branch to branch in the forest canopy. Their habitat is restricted to the bamboo forests of Madagascar, where agricultural expansion and hunting seriously threaten their survival.
