Description: Cockatoos are a member of the parrot family, which are threatened in the wild by deforestation and the caged bird trade. The yellow-crested cockatoo is a white bird with a yellow crest of feathers on the head that curve forward. It lives in the shrub, woodland or plantations of Indonesia and East Timor, but is currently experiencing a dramatic decline in population because of the illegal caged bird trade.
