Description: As the name suggests, the pink pigeon's body is mostly pink but its head is white and wing feathers are brown. It is a large pigeon with a white-tipped, hooked bill. During the 1980s, wild populations of pink pigeons dropped to fewer than 20 individuals. Captive breeding and release reintroduction programs have been somewhat successful, but the pink pigeon is still very rare.
