Description: The Philippine eagle is the world's largest eagle and one of the most endangered birds of prey. It has mostly brown upperparts, a buff belly and a shaggy crest of feathers surrounding its head. It is threatened by hunting and loss of forest habitat. There are fewer than 250 individuals remaining and it is likely that this bird will soon be extinct.
