Description: Ducks are typically plump and buoyant with webbed feet and waterproof feathers. The Hawaiian duck is a dark brown duck similar in appearance to the mallard but with orange legs. It has a limited range in the wetlands of a few of the Hawaiian Islands, including Kauai, where it is threatened by habitat degradation. This species is also being lost to hybridization.
