GOLDEN-CHEEKED WARBLER (Dendroica chrysoparia)

Description: Most warblers are brightly colored migratory insectivorous songbirds. The golden-cheeked warbler is a black, silver and white bird with a splash of yellow color on the side of its cheek and brow. It nests exclusively in the woodlands of Central Texas, and winters in Mexico and farther south. They are threatened by the destruction of their oak and juniper woodland habitat.
