Description: A dazzling bird, the chestnut-bellied hummingbird has an iridescent green head, a bronze back, and a bright red belly and tail. Like all hummingbirds, this species has a unique wing structure that allows them to perform acrobatic aerial maneuvers. Found only in the humid mountain forests of Colombia, the chestnut-bellied hummingbird is threatened by habitat fragmentation and agricultural expansion.
