SEA OTTER

Sea otter females give birth to a single pup. She gives birth on shore but soon brings her pup into the water where she carries him on her stomach while floating on her back. She grooms and cares for her pup for about six months, learning how to forage, hunt, swim and groom. They are able to dive at two months.
