A Reptile Refugee
Thibodaux — a leucistic, or white, American alligator — floats in his temporary home at Jenkinson's Aquarium in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005. The 8-foot alligator is visiting from the Audubon Institute in New Orleans, which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Thibodaux will stay in New Jersey until his handlers determine where his next home will be.
