A thousand miles off the coast of South Africa lie the Crozet Islands, a volcanic archipelago battered by wind, sea and rain. For time immemorial, a powerful drama of life and death has unfolded along its storm-ravaged shores. Join wildlife cameraman David Reichert on a quest to film the astonishing hunting behavior of the Crozet Island orcas.

Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom documentary was filmed over four-and-a-half months in one of the most inhospitable places on the planet. The mission becomes a test of endurance as the raging winds of the lower latitudes hurl never-ending rain, snow and hail at David and his small tent.
Sharing the beach with its sole human inhabitant are vast colonies of southern elephant seals and king penguins, which have gathered there to breed. The extraordinary happens when David strikes up a conversation with the penguins using body language, convinces the young seals to become giant, living pillows, and lounges beneath the waves with the full-grown males.
Offshore, David develops a remarkable relationship with the orcas, one that has to be seen to be believed. Intelligent and beautiful, the orcas are nevertheless deadly predators, and are at the Crozet Islands for a sole purpose. When the seal pups enter the water for their first swim, David's camera captures that purpose with searing realism.
