Lion

In a field of grasses, a massive shape sprouts a horned head. The head swings anxiously, revealing the stocky muzzle of an African buffalo. Its nostrils flare as the old male scents the air. He lows, unsettled. Grasses shift anomalously beside his flank, where a crouching lioness prepares for attack. With a mighty leap she springs into action. Others bound forth to join the onslaught, which drives the buffalo careening across the savanna. His timeworn legs only take him so far, and he turns to lower his rack. The cats close in. A pair latches on from behind. He tosses his head, but is interrupted by powerful jaws, which sink deeply into his muzzle. The buffalo struggles desperately for balance, but falters, and topples under the weight of the lions, which satisfy their desperate hunger.
