Owen Newman
Owen has made numerous films on British and international wildlife subjects for the BBC, Animal Planet, National Geographic and WNET. He is regarded as one of the world's best wildlife cameramen and is renowned for his intimate portraits of animals big and small. He's worked in many countries, from the freezing wastes of the Arctic to the seering heat of the Australian desert. However the majority of his time has been spent in East Africa, where he's spent many years filming all sorts of animals from flamingos to lions.
Amanda Barrett
Amanda teamed up with Owen in 1990 to work on a film that showed the lives of Arctic foxes in Norway, Canada and Russia. Since then she's been involved with Owen on a number of productions in East Africa featuring things as diverse as volcanoes, soda lakes and grasslands. Her most memorable encounters have been with a lioness that jumped onto her car and an elephant that gently put his tusks inside the window and then tried to lift the car up. He gave up when the weight of the vehicle proved heavier than expected.
