In the mountains of central Tasmania lies a little slice of heaven for the world's most notorious devil. On this
Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom special, get a behind-the-scenes look at the planet's premier Tasmanian devil park: Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary.
Filmed over eight months,
Devil Diary follows the everyday dramas experienced by park staff as they raise and care for Tasmanian devils. Owner, founder and devil expert Androo Kelly runs the show at Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary. This "devil whisperer" has an extraordinary rapport with these misunderstood animals. Some devils live up to their name, but others are downright affectionate and love nothing more than a good cuddle.
Androo introduces new recruit Kimberly to his feisty friends. Can she overcome her fear, or will these little terrors get the best of her? Meanwhile, Kyla the devil is overburdened with joeys, so Androo asks Bill the keeper to hand-raise two of them. Can human care replace a devil mother's devotion? And in the largest den, things get out of hand when a brawl leaves one unlucky devil on death's doorstep. Will prompt medical attention put this mauled marsupial on the road to recovery?
Devil Diary is a charming film that dispels many a myth about Tasmania's world-famous devil.
