John and Jennifer had room in their home and their heart for an animal companion. Along came Diamond to fill both spaces. The couple has given the cocker spaniel mix lots of love and a new name, Micah. See what they had to say about their new pet.
First Day
Micah went driving with us and we couldn't stop laughing that he had found his "spot" in the car. He sat between us on the armrest and looked straight ahead, and people on the road thought he was so cute. When we got home, he slept with us.
Home Fit for a Pooch
On the weekend we went to PetSmart with Micah (I think we found his second home). We got him squeaky toys, food, leashes, all sorts of stuff. He couldn't stop smelling everything. He loved that place! Micah also loves GREENIES!! He likes to hide them in the couch.
Alpha Dog
Micah definitely has a mind of his own. When he's at home he plays the follower, but as soon as he gets out of the house he thinks he's the alpha dog. We love just to sit around and have him sit in our laps.
Made for Each Other
I think John and Micah are the same spirit in two bodies. They are so cool!
Getting to Know You
The biggest adjustment for us is that we can't have the house as immaculate as we'd like, but he is worth it! The biggest adjustment for Micah is the rain; it prevents him from having fun outside.
Favorite Pooch Pastime
Snacking, sleeping, jumping and fetching.
Paws and Sit
Since the show he has mastered sit, shake, kiss, stay and fetch. We are trying to teach him the names of his toys.
Canine Cut-Up
We love to show our friends and family his sweet jumping skills. We also have to replace his squeaky toys often. He squeaks the squeaker right squeakin' out of them!
No One's Perfect
He likes to mark his territory... we're working on it.
Lessons Learned
We have learned there is a lot of responsibility in owning a pet. But we love the little guy. He makes us so happy!
