The Animal in You

Which Animal Parent Are You?

If you answered a), the female, you identify with the:
tiger
Tiger: The tiger is just one of many species where the female takes full responsibility for parenting (typical). Hey, it could've been a warthog.
If you answered b), the male, you identify with the:
spotted sandpiper
Spotted Sandpiper: Once the eggs are layed, the female spotted sandpiper's job is over. The hapless male has to incubate the eggs — a 21-day ordeal — and then tend to the fledglings for an additional 21 days. Talk about Mr. Mom.
If you answered c), the couple, you identify with the:
red fox
Red Fox: The perfect "gentleman," the red fox provides food for his vixen while she nurses, leaving her mice and other meals every four to six hours. When the pups are weaned the parents will share hunting responsibilities. The male will even teach the pups survival skills.
If you answered d), huh?, you identify with the:
sea turtle
Sea Turtle: The sea turtle's job is done when her eggs hit the ground and she instinctively covers them up with sand. Sea turtle hatchlings are forced to brave a gauntlet of hungry predators to reach the ocean. Most don't make it. Where's mom when you need her?
