EPISODE 7 — THE ELEPHANT'S TRUNK (SMELL)

In this episode of Corwin's Quest, Jeff explores how animals use smell to communicate, track prey and thwart predators. For his main quest, Jeff travels deep into the heart of Africa to meet a very special group of elephants that are about to graduate from "elephant college." These amazing animals have been trained to sniff out and catch poachers, but before they can be considered full-fledged man hunters they have to track down and catch our host.

True to character, Jeff decides to put these elephants' noses to the ultimate test. Using all sorts of tricks, he attempts to confuse and mislead his super-sized pursuers — but to his constant astonishment, nothing seems to throw their supersensitive trunks off his trail.

But that's not all. In a series of side quests, Jeff looks at how killer bees use pheromones to stay in touch with their queen and how adders track down their victims using smell. And who could possibly investigate smell and leave out the poor old skunk? Not Jeff, that's for sure.
