Roots & Shoots® is designed to engage and inspire youth of all ages through community engagement and service-learning projects. Founded by Dr. Jane Goodall, this fast-growing global program is based on the principle that knowledge leads to compassion, which inspires action. All Roots & Shoots groups plan and implement service projects showing care and concern for people, animals and the environment. Roots & Shoots groups become part of a global network that connects teachers, adult leaders, parents and children. To learn more or to join a Roots & Shoots program go to Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots website.
Take Part in Roots & Shoots Online!
You can participate in Roots & Shoots through an exciting new initiative: Discovery Roots & Shoots online. Monthly meetings focus on a wealth of topics from "Roots & Shoots 101" to addressing local needs to global issues effecting people, animals and the environment. Topics will reflect the group's interests. Roots & Shoots staff member, Jordan Lonegren, will facilitate discussions. At the end of each meeting Jordan will help participants identify potential community action projects. Discovery Roots & Shoots is a great way for individuals of all ages to get involved, act locally, and network globally!
To post in the boards you must be a member of My Animal Planet. Once you sign up you're ready to JOIN THE DISCUSSION.
