Jane Goodall stands with a member of the APOPO team, the organization that first began training rats to sweep for landmines. This rat is in the training stages and is learning to sniff for TNT. When correct, the trainer uses a "clicker" to make a sound and then the rat gets a treat. The rat will eventually associate the sound with receiving a reward. |
