Meet Dr. Shana O'Marra

A native New Englander, Dr. Shana O'Marra graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine and received her undergraduate degree at Oberlin College in neuroscience.

Early on in her veterinary studies, Dr. O'Marra worked part time as an emergency and critical care veterinary technician at the Foster Hospital for Small Animals in North Grafton, Mass. Her responsibilities included triage and initial stabilization of emergency patients and care and supervision of critical patients.

Armed with a strong technical background, Shana plans to use her year at Alameda East to hone her skills in emergency medicine and critical care. When she's not busy, Shana enjoys hiking, skiing, yoga, reading and playing with her kitten, Templeton.
