Dr. Michelle Nanfelt was born in South Nyack, N.Y. After receiving a bachelor's degree in biology, she worked as a veterinary/surgery technician in a small animal clinic in Alexandria, Va., before moving to Colorado.
At Colorado State University, Michelle received a master's degree in anatomy and then graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine. After completing a rotating internship in small-animal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine with Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in June 2006, Dr. Nanfelt received a yearlong specialized surgical internship at the hospital, – a highly coveted position at Alameda East. This surgical intern plays a major part of every surgery and oversees postop care for all patients.
