Richard Gale (aka "Little Richard") started his career at Australia Zoo in 1998 as a work-experience student while still attending school. A keen reptile enthusiast, Richard soon became a full-time volunteer and was later employed as a reptile keeper.
All of Little Richard's hard work and enthusiasm recently payed off when he was promoted to head reptile keeper. Richard's responsibilities now include the total care for all of Australia Zoo's reptilian species. Little Richard can often be seen doing the snake demonstrations, including the handling of all of the zoo's venomous snakes.
Richard's other passion in life is scuba diving and he takes every chance to go diving. He has a special interest in the conservation of grey nurse sharks.
