Kelsey started working at the Australia Zoo in 1994 as an enthusiastic volunteer at the information kiosk. Her passion for wildlife was quickly recognized, and she became an animal keeper. After proving herself as a leader, Kelsey was again promoted, this time to head animal curator, which involves all the tasks associated with the daily operation of the zoo. Kelsey works hand in hand with zoo management to create a great atmosphere for animals, patrons and staff. Kelsey also has the unique pleasure of working alongside her parents, Fred and Thelma, who are also zoo staffers. Kelsey left Australia Zoo in 2001 to study wildlife in South America and returned in 2002 to take up her previous position as curator. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys camping and bush walking. She has a degree in zoology and 12 years of experience in the field.
