Frank, usually referred to as "Little Frank," started work at Australia Zoo as a volunteer. His first full-time job was with the construction team, but his interest in birds saw him working weekends helping to care for the zoo's 150-plus avians. Frank's natural ability with birds was soon rewarded when he was promoted to bird keeper and then eventually head bird keeper.
With planning under way for a free flight bird show, the opportunity arose for Little Frank to take up the position of head bird trainer. It is Little Frank's responsibility to train all the birds at Australia Zoo. He also regularly performs the birds of prey demonstration.
Frank has an associate diploma in wilderness reserves and wildlife. In his spare time, he races mountain bikes and enjoys bird watching.
