Episode: House Wrens and Chipmunks
Purpose: To create a nesting place for house wrens.
Materials: Strands from a mop top, string, hemp or twine, cotton balls, an old cotton T-shirt torn into thin strips, feathers from a pillow, hay, dried grass and burlap, and one mesh fruit bag, without the fruit.
Instructions:
1) Make sure that all string material is no greater than 5 inches in length. Cloth materials should be torn into narrow strips (less then 1/8 inch wide) and no longer then 4 inches in length.
2) Once the materials have been resized, stuff them with the remaining materials into the mesh bag, tying off the open end when complete.
3) Now hang the nesting bag from a tree branch about 5 feet from the ground.
