Bamboo Beehive

Episode: Bees and Black Phoebes

Purpose: To create a simple, homemade beehive.

Materials: 8-10 bamboo stalks, hand saw, screwdriver and string.

Instructions:

1) Begin this project by cutting the bamboo stalks into 5-inch pieces.

2) Using the screwdriver, hollow out 3-4 inches in one end of each stalk.

3) Tie 5-8 pieces of bamboo together and hang the homemade beehive in a sunny place.
