Hanging Wire Peanut Feeder

Episode: Banana Slug, Western Red-Backed Salamander and Steller's Jay

Purpose: To create a peanut feeder for Steller's jays.

Materials: Medium gauge wire or string, peanuts in the shell.

Instructions:

1) Cut a 3-foot piece length of wire from the spool.

2) Starting about 3 inches from the top, wrap the wire once around a peanut.

3) Move down another 2 inches and wrap the wire around another peanut.

4) Continue wrapping the peanuts in the wire until there is no more wire to wrap.

5) Hang the feeder from a branch or shepard's hook in the habitat.
