The Backyard Habitat team is headed to Los Angeles to help Kimberly Fraser give back some of the habitat that the pallid bat and the western alligator lizard have lost to suburban sprawl. Unlike most bats, the pallid bat likes to roost in one spot during the day and move to a different location at night. Molly and Dave show Kimberly how to give them the five-star treatment by installing two different bat boxes — one mounted to the house and a second perched on a 15-foot pole. Next, Kimberly finds out how a lizard's alligator-sized appetite can make her back yard a safer place, and how children can observe their backyard wildlife from behind a kid-sized, camouflaged observation blind.
