AmyJo Meadows

AmyJo Meadows — or A.J. as she's known — joined the Arizona Humane Society in 2004 after serving as a volunteer. She describes her job in the animal world as very rewarding.

A.J. is a true go-getter and she refuses to take "no" for an answer. Her resilience and willingness to get the job done are clear — especially when dealing with tough, uncooperative pet owners.

A.J. has adopted two rescued pets who were victims of animal cruelty and neglect. Her kitten JoJo was abandoned; her Pomeranian Chloe was just a pup when rescued from the filthy home of a ruthless breeder and animal hoarder. She also shares her home with cats Max, Mya and Captain Jack, and is an active foster care provider for sick and injured animals.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?
"Having the opportunity to be the voice for animals in need."

Personal Interests
A.J. enjoys NASCAR racing and attending baseball games with her family.
