Back to page one of animal updates.

Malachi
Malachi the Rottweiler is the third dog featured in episode 212. Special Agent Adam Gankiewicz, who arrested Malachi's owner for committing animal cruelty had found the dog abandoned in a small crate.

After spending two weeks at a special foster home in Philadelphia where he learned basic manners, Malachi was finally adopted. Unfortunately a few days after bringing him home, Malachi's new owners learned that they were expecting a baby. Malachi went back to the ASPCA. Click here.

Junkyard Dogs
In a Brooklyn junkyard, Special Investigator Annemarie Lucas and Special Agent Joann Sandano responded to complaint about three dogs in distress. The agents found all of the dogs infested with tics and very hungry.

After feeding the dogs and unsuccessfully trying to locate their owner, the agents had no choice but to wait 24 hours before they could return. The following day, Lucas and Sandano with the help of Special Investigator Mark MacDonald, seized the three dogs and brought them back to the ASPCA. The story concluded with a successful undercover arrest and the adoption of one of the dogs by a local New York City weatherman. Click here.

House of Skinny Cats
In episode 213, Special Investigator Annemarie Lucas and Special Agent JoAnn Sandano arrived at one Queens apartment — after complaints of a foul odors — and found several very thin cats, including Bliss, a malnourished feline suffering from severe retinal damage. What happened to Bliss? Click here.

Weaver Finds a Home
In episode 214, special agents rescued two puppies — including "Weaver" — that had been left unattended in a backyard. They were taken to the ASPCA and put up for adoption. Where's Weaver now? Click here.

Jack Leaves the City
Jack was a country lab at heart and found life cooped up in the big bad city (neglected, with a broken paw) too much to bear.

He'd been locked up in an inner courtyard surrounded by trash and carcasses of other animals. Click here to see the new Jack.

Wilson's Brighter Future
Special Investigator Annemarie Lucas and Special Agent JoAnn Sandano returned to the ASPCA with an injured Spaniel named Wilson that they rescued from a location in the Bronx.

Where's Wilson now? Click here.

Lady the sheepdog
On a routine visit to a groomer, Special Agent "H" seized a dog named Lady whose throat had been sliced. The groomer removed an embedded collar and found the wound. After being treated at the ASPCA, Special Agent "H" and Special Agent Gankiewicz spoke to the dog's owner who said that he had left her with a friend before taking her to the groomer. At the conclusion of the episode, the agents arrested the owner's "friend" for committing animal cruelty. Click here.

Saving Cain
In episode 212, Cain — a large mastiff — was found in a run-down Brooklyn car lot. He was about to be euthanized until the agent who rescued him decided to adopt him, too. How's he doing? Click here.

Trashcan Puppies
In episode 207, Special Investigator Paul Romano and Special Agent Joe Pentangelo traveled to Brooklyn where they responded to a complaint that someone had thrown two live puppies in the garbage. The couple that rescued the puppies told the agents that their neighbor was to blame.

When the agents questioned the owner she informed them that she placed the dogs in the garbage because their mother would not feed them. The agents went back to the garbage and found eleven more puppies. All of them were taken to the Bergh Hospital back at the ASPCA. In the end, the owner and another person at the home were arrested for animal cruelty and only two of the puppies survived. What happened to the remaining two?
