Luigi Boitani A professor of vertebrate zoology and animal ecology, Dr. Boitani is chairman of the department of animal and human biology at the University of Rome. Since the 1970s, he's served as chairman of the wolf specialists' group of the Worldwide Conservation Union which he founded with world renowned wolf rearcher L. David Mech. Boitani and Mech just finished a collaborative book project which will replace Mech's The Wolf, published in 1970, as the new "bible" of wolf ecology and behavior. The book, Wolves: Behavior, Ecology and Conservation, is scheduled to be published in 2003 by the University of Chicago Press.
Paolo Ciucci A full research scientist at the Department of Animal and Human Biology at the University of Rome, Dr. Ciucci's current field research project involves radio tracking wolves in Parco Nazionale del Pollino.
