Fitzgerald (right with umbrella) and crew spent three weeks in Chiang Mai, about 600 km north of Bangkok, filming the Elephant Nature Park. Here's Fitzgerald's account of the city: "Chiang Mai is a tourist city, and we were staying in the Suriwongse Hotel next to the busy night bazaar that heaved with tourists seven nights a week. Here at the temporary stalls, which appear at around 4 p.m. each afternoon, you can buy a Rolex or a pair of Armani jeans for less than a fiver."
