Penguins released to sea
Return to Sea
In September 2000, the last few hundred rescued penguins were released back into the wild. For most of the birds, it had been months since they'd seen the sea. This group was a bit confused when they first hit the sand, waddling to and fro like a bunch of drunken old men. But soon after the first bird went into the water, the rest followed suit without hesitation, and swiftly swam away like birds in flight.
