Chinstrap (Pygoscelis antartica)

Distribution: The chinstrap penguin is the second-most-abundant penguin in the world, next to the macaroni penguin of the crested group. They live and breed on the islands of the Scotia Arc off the coast of Antarctica, mostly on the South Sandwich Islands, where there are an estimated 5 million pairs.
Status: Stable and possibly increasing.
