Five yearling pandas born at Wolong in 2004 gently push each other around on this climbing platform. They live in a large enclosure on the other side of the nursery. The group includes a pair of twins, but it’s impossible to pick them out from the others based on size. Growth rates even out for giant pandas in the long run, and even tiny twins can catch up in weight to large single cubs. Picking out the two pandas that look most alike – the twins – also proves impossible. The harder they play, the muddier they get, and the more similar they look.
